For our new Bones Fans - Season 1 (15)

Season 1

EPISODE 15 - 'TWO BODIES IN THE LAB'

This must be my favourite episode so far!
Brennan is exploring the world of online dating when the body of a mafia boss is brought into the lab. The squints are cautious about working on a mafia case, but Dr Brennan and Dr Goodman (practical as always) insists in ID'ing the man asap. Bones is very impressed that the mafia does actually put the feet of their victims in "cement shoes" as the legs of the victim was transported in a slab of cement.

Booth brings in another FBI agent, Agent Kenton, who worked on the Ramano case. B&B are soon called out to another crime scene where a girl's remains are found tied to a meat stand surrounded by hungry dogs. Some of her flesh is still attached, but her eyes appeared to be gauged out. Booth is aggravated b/c it seems to be the same MO as the suspected serial-killer, Kevin Hollings, whom Booth couldn't put away b/c they didn't have sufficient evidence.

Booth is not happy about Bones going on a date with David the internet guy, but she is adamant that she can protect herself and kinda tells him to mind his own business.

While Bones is on her way to meet with David, she gets shot at and is very pissed - she continues to work at the lab, despite everybody telling her to go home.
Booth gets Bones' date, David, in for interrogation and you can see he is a bit jealous and enjoy hassling David - Bones seems to like him.

Finally Booth insists that she goes home. There, they share what is to me one of the best B&B moments. He says that he will stay with her at her apartment and to kill time he decides to go through her music collection and listen to music. Here we find out that Bones like jazz. They share an amazing B&B moment when Booth puts on "Hot Blooded" by Foreigner and they sing and dance together.

When Booth goes to the fridge to get a soda, he is blown up by a bomb that was intended for Bones - Zack says the only reason he's still alive is because he was reaching for a glass while opening the fridge door.

Bones goes to visit Booth in the hospital and sees that his x-rays show that a method of torture where they beat the soles of your feet with pipes was used on him while in the army. They also show he has old injuries from shielding someone - Booth is surprised that Bones can see that from just looking at his X-rays and tells her that it was his army buddy that didn't make it.

Booth makes Agent Kenton look after Bones while he is in the hospital. They go to the suspects', Kevin Hollings, apartment where they confiscated some keys - Bones realised that a key was used to gauge out the victims eyes - and they find a map, but Hollings are no where to be found and he didn't show up to collect his keys.

Hodgins also goes to visits Booth in the hospital and with all his conspiracy talk, makes Booth realize that Hollings was just a cover and that Agent Kenton was behind it all - he is so concerned about Bones' safety that he makes Hodgins drive him (in his mini) to where the FBI think they are. Booth feels very guilty for giving Bones over to Agent Kenton - he feels that it's his job to protect her and he failed.

Agent Kenton abducts Bones and ties her up - intending to kill her and feed her to the dogs (to put the blame on Hollings). He killed Hollings. Agent Kenton is working for the mafia - Bones were busy with a new theory to determine which gun was used by using the fired bullet and the bullet would have pointed to Agent Kenton's gun.

Booth and Hodgins find Bones just in time and Booth shoots Agent Kenton in the arm, but doesn't kill him. Booth saves Bones in a very handsome and heroic display.

When B&B are in the hospital afterwards, she is dressed up and ready to go out on a date with David - she leaves, but then returns and stays with Booth to watch an old movie.

B&B Moments:

Booth: So, this whole online thing, how long does it last? Because if it's just a way to hook up ... I gotta tell you, It's pretty low.
David: You know, one of my partners met his wife online.
Brennan: You're kidding.
David: No, they've been married for five years.
Booth: Doesn't mean it's not creepy

(Booth's in recovery after Brennan's fridge exploded on him)
Booth: Stick with her.
Kenton: Yeah, if you want me to.
Brennan: Don't you think I should be consulted?
Booth: No! Keep her close

(Booth has just saved Brennan from Kenton. She has her arms around his neck with her wrists still bound and is hugging him very tightly)
Booth: Oh, it’s okay. I’m right here. It’s all over. Okay. Shh. I’m right here, alright. It’s all over. Shh...alright.
(Brennan loosens her grip and sits back to look at him)
Brennan: How did you get out of the hospital?
Booth: Hodgins gave me a ride. Maybe...maybe you could give me a ride back though, huh?
(She smiles, shakes her head yes and hugs him again very, very tightly burying her head in his sweater)

(Booth and Brennan at the hospital. Booth is lying in bed while Brennan sits next to him in a black dress)
Booth: You know, I let you down, Bones. I’m sorry.
Brennan: You saved my life.
Booth: Yeah, but you know, it shouldn’t...it shouldn’t have gone down like that.
(they both smile pensively)
Brennan: What a pair.
(Booth turns to look at her and smiles when Brennan's cell phone rings)
Brennan: (on the phone) Brennan. Um, I’m leaving right now. (hangs up) David. We're finally having our dinner.
Booth: Well, I figured you didn't dress up for me.
Brennan: (smiles and stands up) You sure you don’t want anything?
Booth: Nah, I’ll be fine. I’m just going to, you know, flip around the TV here.
Brennan: (hesitant to leave) Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow.
Booth: Yeah, have a good night.
Brennan: Thanks.
(Brennan leaves and Booth flips through stations to an old movie. It’s a romantic one. He looks down, sad and pensive. When he looks up again he sees Brennan enter his room.)
Brennan: I rescheduled. My...my head still hurts.
Booth: Well, we can watch TV if you like.
Brennan: Sure.

Booth: Did they gather all the evidence from the explosion?
Brennan: Yes.
Booth: You sure?
Brennan: Yes. Booth, I was there. They were very thorough, and I was very annoying.

(after Bones says she has a date with someone she met online)
Booth: (looking at Brennan) You know, what ever happened to seeing someone across a crowded room, eyes meeting, that old black magic gets you in its spell?
Brennan: There's no such thing as magic.
Booth: Oh, there's magic.

Booth: Bones, how many keys do you need?
Brennan: (showing them) Car, house, lab, morgue... I need a lot of keys.

(after informing Bones her date is a suspect)
Booth: Look, Bones, I know it's hard for you to admit that you might be wrong about something, but I really don't care about your feelings right now, I'm more concerned with your life. So, they're bringing your date in for interrogation, grab your coat.
Brennan: I'm working.
Booth: Bones, I'm not letting you out of my sight until I find out who was trying to kill you.

(To Bones)
Angela: "I mean you actually have a FBI knight in standard issue body armor, so cut him some slack"

For our new Bones Fans - Season 1 (14)

Season 1

EPISODE 14 - 'THE MAN ON THE FAIRWAY'

Brennan and Zack are on their own on this crime scene of a plane crash, where they find the bodies of Chinese diplomats and an unknown woman. The Government puts pressure on the Jeffersonian to ID the woman and Dr Goodman gives strict instructions for the squint squad to focus on the Chinese and the girl. Hmm, but our heroine has other ideas as she found pieces of bones amongst the plane crash debree that wasn't burnt and she instruct the squints to concentrate on finding that identity. It's very funny how Zack and Angela is cautious coz they don't want to loose their jobs, but Hodgins (conspiracy freak) is all in!

Zack: You want us to defy Dr. Goodman?
Dr. Hodgins: I'm in.

Brennan tries to get Booth involved in the investigation:

Booth: Next time, you know, you miss me, pick up the phone, call me. We'll do lunch.
Brennan: I do not miss you.
Booth: Yeah, you miss me. Come on, say it!
Brennan: I do not miss you.
Security Guy: Dr. Brennan, Agent Booth. You have a visitor.
Brennan: No I don't.
Booth: You miss me.
Booth is on to Bones and the fact that she wants him around.

Brennan identifies with a man named Jesse Kane, who thinks that the pieces of bone belong to his father who disappeared 5 years ago but nobody knows for sure - the same thing Brennan went through with her parents. The 2 of them are kind of attracted to each other and almost share a kiss - Booth warns her not to date suspects in a murder investigation.

The victim turned out to be Frank Sparks who was killed by his brother, Ray Sparks to get their mother's inheritance (there is a very funny scene where Zack and Hodgins put a frozen pig through a wood chipper coz Brennan believes that's how Ray disposed of the body and tells them to test her theory).

Booth ignores Zack because he is a squint and Zack says that it's a male bonding thing. At first Brennan is against it, but later she says Booth is being "sweet" . Booth replies "Your people are my people". Booth is starting to accept the squints and doesn't see them as such a burden anymore:

Zack: This is the third time in a row we've investigated without Booth. I don't like it.
Brennan: Why? He mostly ignores you.
Zack: Ignoring me is Booth's way of acknowledging my presence. It's a guy thing.

Brennan: You’re back to ignoring Zack?
Booth: Alright look, I know you don’t approve but you know, it works for us. It worked for him so...
Brennan: Yeah, I get it and it’s kind of sweet.
Booth: Hey, you know, your people are my people.
Brennan: What, I have people? (smiles) Hey, I have people.

B&B Moments:

Booth: I say we go visit Miss Anderson and we’ll know pretty fast if she’s a suspect.
Brennan: How?
Booth: How? Subtle psychological indicators, Bones.
Brennan: I looked those up on the Internet, body language, sweat, tonal quality, shifty eyes.
Booth: Hey you know what? I don’t go poking around your bones stuff, okay? Just leave the human stuff to me

(In the car)
Booth: "your testing my instincts Bones"
Bones: (while pinching his cheek) "Poking and prodding, I learned from the best" Bones is starting to get touchy feely towards Booth in this episode.

Brennan: Dismemberment, little bits; it's a murder.
Booth: Well, the FBI doesn't have jurisdiction on a golf course.
Brennan: Who does?
Booth: I don't know. Try the PGA!

Booth: You know, you’ve done a couple of cases without me and you miss me.
Brennan: Zack misses you, not me.
Booth: Zack and I don't even talk!
Brennan: He seems to think it's some male bonding ritual.
Booth: Maybe he's right.
Brennan: No it's not.
Booth: Could be.
Brennan: You told him that so you wouldn't have to talk to him.
Booth: Well, it was nicer than shooting him.

At the end of the episode, Brennan gives Booth her parents' file to look into:

Brennan: I want to ask you a favor.
Booth: Geez, another favor.
Brennan: I wonder if you wouldn't mind taking a look at this.
Booth: The file on your parents? Yeah, ok.
Brennan: You want to think about it? It's a pretty big favor.
Booth: You'd do it for me.
Brennan: Yeah, I would.
Booth: I'm proud you asked, Temperance.

For our new Bones Fans - Season 1 (13)

Season 1

EPISODE 13 - 'THE WOMAN IN THE GARDEN'

B&Brennan are called into Little Salvador to investigate when a dug up corpse is found in the back of an El Salvadorian gang member's car. While he is being questioned, a drive-by shooting allows him to escape.

Further into the investigation, Brennan finds out that the murdered girl was a christian and was pregnant. They identify the gang member from the car as Jose Vargas.

Booth and Brennan follow the evidence until it leads them to Senator Alan Corman, where Jose also works. There they meet Hector, the house manager, and Logan, the Senator's son. They also find a second body buried near the pond in the Senator's garden.

In the lab, they found that both victims had a hereditary condition and that they were father and daughter - Jose's sister and father. His sister was killed when Hector found out that she was pregnant and his father died of cancer - he wanted to keep the family together and give them a peaceful burial place.

Booth gets the gang unit to bring in the leader of Mara Muerte. Bones gets into an argument with him that leads to a fight - the event after that must be one of my favourite Bones moments:

Booth gets word that Mara Meurte has put a hit out on Bones. He meets with the leader and tells him that if anything ever happens to Bones, that he will come after him and kill him. Nobody sees, nobody knows:

(Booth sitting in a car watching an alley way. He sees Ortez and jumps out of his car, runs up behind him and slams him into a wall)
Ortez: What are you crazy? This is my neighborhood.
Booth: You put a hit out on my partner?
Ortez: She's not FBI.
(Booth punches him in the face and puts his gun under Ortez's chin)
Booth: I never said anything about FBI. She's my partner, ese? And if anything happens to her, I will find you and I will kill you. I won't think twice. Come here look at my eyes. (He cocks his gun and puts it in Ortez's mouth) Look at my face! If anything happens to her, I will kill you.

Bones puts on a funeral for both Maria and Augustine. Jose says he will pay Brennan back. Bones is mad at Booth when he misses the funeral, but he missed the funeral coz he was protecting her - sweet!

Booth: Am I in trouble?
Angela: You’re late for a funeral, of course you’re in trouble.
Booth: (to Bones) Sorry. I apologize. I… everything okay here?
Bones: Where were you?
Booth: I had something to do.
Bones: More important than a funeral?
Booth: I thought so at the time.

Bones bought a book about improving work-relationship's - giving us insight into the fact that she really cares about her and Booth's relationship:

Brennan: Why would a gang leader cooperate?
Booth: I'm gonna ask him really, really nicely, Bones.
Brennan: You know that book I'm reading about getting along with your co-workers? It says that sarcasm is never helpful. I can lend it to you if you want.

We also learn that Bones has been in some pretty rough situations:

Brennan: On my last trip to El Salvador…
Angela: Yeah, I remember. I tried to get you to go to Italy, with me.
Brennan: I was in a tent set up by one of the grave sites. I was working with the remains of a young girl, maybe 13. She’d been shot in the head and dumped into a well. This cop shows up and, he might have been a soldier it’s not easy to tell. I thought he was there to guard me, but he told me to stop. When I refused he called in two others. They put a bag over my head and tossed me into a cell with dirt floor and no windows.
Angela: For how long?
Brennan: Later I found out it was three days but I thought it was a week, maybe more. He came in everyday and made me believe I was going to die. He said that he was going to shoot me and toss me into a well and that no one would ever know who I was or what became of me. I promised myself if I ever had the chance I’d get even. That doesn’t mean I need therapy.

B&B Moments:

Brennan: Why did they call in the FBI to Little Salvador?
Booth: Well you know, the car's got Virginia plates, across state line and then there's a suspected gang member and then there's Rico to deal with. Look Bones, do you really want to know?
Brennan: No, I was just using it as an excuse to make conversation and reestablish our connection.
Booth: What?
Brennan: Well I read a book about improving work relationships. It's not fair to expect you to tell me everything.
Booth: I appreciate the effort, Bones.

Booth: Oh, come on guys. Let's think of it as a puzzle. There's a missing piece.
Brennan: I like puzzles. I find them relaxing. I just finished "The Anatomy Lesson" by Rembrandt.
Booth: You're kidding, right?
Brennan: No. What do you find relaxing?
Booth: I restore vintage cars.
Hodgins: I know what I find relaxing.
Booth: Everybody finds what you find relaxing relaxing.

(Hodgins and Brennan high-five.)
Booth: Ok, you two should do that even less than normal people.

Booth: Ok. Hodgins, suit up. You're coming with us. We're going to the barrio!
Hodgins: Field work. Cool. Do I get a gun?
Brennan: You can't arm Hodgins and not me.
Booth: What is it with you people and the guns, huh?!

Bones: "I am asking you as a favor don't make me scare her".
Booth sees the distress this is causing her and knows it won't matter in the long run so he let's it go. Booth cares about Temperance in more than just a professional relationship.

For our new Bones Fans - Season 1 (12)

Season 1

EPISODE 12 - 'THE SUPERHERO IN THE ALLEY'

B&B discovers a badly decomposed body in an alley and dressed in what looks to Brennan like a Halloween costume.
Booth pushes for a quick ID and uses the "charm smile" on Bones to try to coax her into rushing:

Booth: You don't have to solve the whole case, just tell me if I'm looking at a murder, maybe, you know, pull a quick ID? (Booth gives her his brightest smile)
Brennan: (smiles back) Don't use your charm smile on me.
Booth: (innocently) What? It's a mark of respect. That's all

The boy turned out to be Warren Granger, age 17, and was leading a double life as a
"superhero" that he was writing a comic book about - Citizen 14. While investigating his room, Booth was impressed by one of the comics Warren owned and Bones teased him about it by asking if he is a nerd. Booth defends himself, saying that it's normal for an American male to read comic books:

Brennan: Booth, are you a nerd?
Booth: First of all, you mean geek. And no, I'm not, okay? It's quite normal for an American male to read comic books.
Brennan: I find it hard to believe you have anything in common with Warren Granger.
Booth: Oh, you mean isolated with an inner secret life? No. I'd say you were more like Warren

Warren was killed by the bowling alley owner, Ted, when he saw him beating up his wife (Lucy) - Warren was being a hero and tried to rescue the damsel in distress - the 'Opalescence' in his comic book.

Angela also finishes Warren's comic book that they found decomposed with the body, making the ending special by showing how Citizen 14 (Warren) captured the bad guy and how the Opalescence thanks him.

At the cemetery, Warren’s funeral is being attended by Lucy, the Doomsday group (the comic book fanatics that were friends with Warren), Booth and Bones, and Blue Minnow (A girl who was in love with Warren). Booth leaves his sharpshooter medal on Warren’s casket, and Angela arrives and gives the finished comic book to Lucy. It shows that Warren saved The Opalescence (Lucy) after all, then Lucy leaves the comic book on the casket.

B&B Moments:

Booth: All this kid wants is to feel like a hero. Suddenly he’s facing the damsel in distress.
Brennan: Lucy McGruder is ten years older.
Booth: No, it’s not the damsel part that matters. It’s the distress that appealed to the kid. You know, I mean look, it wasn’t about the sex or the romance. It never was.
Brennan: He wanted to make a difference in the world before he died. I told you he was more like you then me.

Brennan: Her husband beats her.
Booth: Bones! Talk about multiple hypotheses.
Brennan: It’s a leap, yes, but it was bound to happen, me spending so much time with you. I mean that as a compliment.

For our new bones fans - Season 1 (11)

Season 1

EPISODE 11 - 'THE WOMAN IN THE CAR'

B&B gets involved in a case where a woman's burned body is found in a car and there's traces that her child has been kidnapped. They suspect his father, Carl Decker, but as they delve deeper, they uncover that he is under witness protection. He is a federal witness in a case against a company named KBC Systems that, according to him, made defective body armor (knowingly) and sent them to Iraq where it cost the lives of several millitaries. The justice department doesn’t want him to know what happened with his wife and son, but B&B doesn’t seem happy with this.

The victim turned out to be an immigrant named Polina who arrived in the U.S. in 1994 with her sister and who later got married to Carl Decker. They have an 8-year-old son named Donovan.

Dr. Goodman introduces Agent Samantha Pickering who will perform a security review for the State Department. From the first moment, Hodgins doesn’t look pleased with the idea - screaming cover up and conspiracy. But Pickering interviews everyone except Hodgins - sighting that he isn't a threat which of course irks Hodgins even more.

When Agent Pickering interviews Brennan, she asks a question about a man named Juan Guzman when she was in Cuba. Brennan very calmly picks up the phone and speaks to someone who then speaks to Agent Pickering and (I love this part) tells her to wait there until someone comes to destroy her notes.

The kidnappers sends Booth the little boys finger and the situation gets more desperate. They finally find the boy, but he is very scared and refuses to let Booth take him until he uses the code word: Paladin, that the boy's father said he should use.

B&B argue about bringing kids into this world - Brennan doesn't want to take the change to expose her child to the violence in the world, but Booth says that everything is worth it and he is happier to be a father than he was yesterday:

Brennan:
It’s not often I get to help save someone before they die.
Booth: Oh hell, Bones, every time you catch a murderer you save his next victim.
Brennan: No, this is different.
Booth: Yeah. Still glad you don’t have any kids?
Brennan: Yeah. Why?
Booth: You looking at that boy and his dad, I just thought you changed your mind.
Brennan: No. Still glad that you have a kid?
Booth: Gladder today than yesterday.
Brennan: That doesn’t make any sense.
Booth: Yeah, it’s complicated.

Brennan gets interviewed for her book release, but the interview is a little strained and awkward ... at the end she says that she planned to never have kids which shocks the interviewer. Booth is there to encourage her and pulls faces to make her smile a bit and be less awkward but it doesn't help:

Booth: You know, if this works, I'll buy you a puppy.
Brennan: That would be inadvisable. You never told me how I was this morning. I asked you, how did I do, and you said we'll talk about it in the car but we didn't.
Booth: (slightly hesitant) Was it your first TV interview?
Brennan: Yes.
Booth: It was fine, you know, for your first interview.
Brennan: That was a qualified response.
Booth: What? No, it was lively. (tries to leave)
Brennan: Lively? What kind of word is that?
Booth: (evasively) It's an adjective, though ironically most words that end in "-ly" are adverbs, like "ironically".
Brennan: Ok, what did I do wrong?
Booth: Maybe next time, tell a funny story. Oh, and never say you don't like children.
Brennan: I didn't say I don't like children, I just said I didn't want any.
Booth: On TV, it's the same thing

B&B Moments:

Brennan: Why don't we ever take my car?
Booth: Do you have bulletproof vests in your trunk?
Brennan: No.
Booth: That's why.

Agent Pickering: Didn't I see you on television this morning Dr. Brennan?
Brennan: How could I possibly know what you watched on television? Booth, (walking away) I have to talk to you.
Agent Pickering: Yeah… it was definitely her.
Goodman: Maybe work your way up to Dr. Brennan.

Brennan:
You just told me not to jump to a conclusion.
Booth: No offense intended.
Brennan: No, you were right! It’s just I usually get to tell you.
Booth: Well, our relationship has taken a whole new turn.

Booth: Bones usually I enjoy your company, but it is times like this you give me a little something extra to work at.
Bones: You enjoy my company?

For our new Bones Fans - Season 1 (10)

Season 1

EPISODE 10 - 'THE WOMAN AT THE AIRPORT'

Booth hijacks Bones again in this episode - this time to LA, where they found the badly mangled body of a young woman. Bones has a hard time with ID because it appears that the woman had undergone some intense plastic surgery.

They work along with Agent Finn from the LA FBI offices, but Booth acts coldly towards her coz she wants to write Bones' books' screenplay and he thinks that she is using the FBI as a stepping stone to something better and according to him there is nothing better than working for the FBI:

Finn: Agent Booth, can I have a moment please? Umm, have I done something to offend you?
Booth: Look, I'm not really into this whole west coast, in touch with your feelings thing okay so--
Finn: Yeah, umm, I'm really good at my job and I've been nothing but cooperative and helpful to you, but you just freeze me out.
Booth: Mmm hmm.
Finn: And, I know you have nothing against working with women because you're partners with Dr. Brennan. So your problem must be with me.
Booth: Look, I don't have anything against you Agent Finn. I just don't like the way you view the FBI.
Finn: What do you mean?
Booth: This is a proud and noble job, but you’re using it to get to something else. My advice, write your script, get an agent, hell, have a little plastic surgery, but quit using my Federal Bureau of Investigation as a stepping stone to something you think is better. Because in my book, there is nothing better.

Bones is disgusted by the doctors who perform plastic surgery and gets quite nasty to one of the suspects when he examines her face and wants to tell her about taking care of problem areas sooner than later:

Booth: "Touch her and she'll break your arm. She thinks what you do is ..."
Bones: "Barbaric"

Booth also rents a 66 mustang convertible and gets hassled by Bones who wants to drive and threatens him by saying that she is not beyond telling his boss that he listed the car as a sedan on the rental agreement:

Bones: This car doesn't feel very FBI.
Booth: Bones, this is a 1966 Mustang. It's a classic. What goes better than that with the FBI?
Bones: How come on the rental agreement under "Model" did the guy write "sedan"?
Booth: Bah, we're in California! Look, palm trees!
Bones: You know, I'd like to drive sometime.
Booth: Look, our contact out here is Special Agent Trisha Finn.
Bones: I'm an excellent driver.
Booth: OK, Rain Man.
Bones: Don't know what that means.
Booth: I'm always going to drive. You know that, right? Me behind the wheel, you over there, on the grand Mustang.
Bones: I'm not above telling Deputy Director Colin what kind of car you rented.

The victim turned out to be a call girl who was killed by another call girl out of jealousy and Bones troughs a little tantrum when Booth uses her phone to call the agency to arrange for the call girl to meet with him:

Brennan: You're ordering a prostitute from my cell phone?!
Booth: I'm wondering if Rachel ever took part in one of those two-on-one specials?
Hodgins: Hey! The old two-on-one special! Classic!
Zack: What's a classic?
Booth: That's great. Just send me whoever she worked with the most.
Brennan: You're ordering a hooker to my hotel?!
Zack: Did I hear you say hooker?
Hodgins: Hey, how come I never get to go on these out of town trips?
Booth: You have much looser daily allowances than I do.
Brennan: Well, have fun.

Dr Goodman is left to authenticate a very old skeleton - him and Hodgins don't see eye to eye coz Dr Goodman was an archaeologist and Hodgins is purely a scientist:

Zack: Why are you being so mean to Dr. Goodman?
Hodgins: I'm not being mean, I'm being critical of his process.
Zack: Why are you being so critical of his process?
Hodgins: We should be looking at the facts. Is the skeleton authentic, or not? That's all. Instead it's all a mish mash of conjecture. What I think is he's forgotten how to do the science and doesn't want to admit it.

B&B Moments:

Bones: "These bones you bring me. I give them a face, I say their names out loud, I return them to their loved ones, and you arrest the bad guy. I like that."
Booth: "So do I"

Brennan: Coyotes at the airport?
Agent Finn: We got coyotes everywhere.
Brennan: (to Booth) Did you know that?
Booth: No. I thought coyotes were a cowboy thing.

For our new Bones Fans - Season 1 (9)

Season 1

EPISODE 9 - 'THE MAN IN THE FALLOUT SHELTER'

Merry X-mas! The whole bones squint squad gets stuck in the lab over Christmas coz Booth brought Tempe a skeleton that was found in a fallout shelter (he wanted to avoid paperwork) and Hodgins and Zack cut into the bones thereby contaminating the lab. The bio-hazard alarm goes off and we see Zack and Hodgins run into the bio-hazard shower. A conference call reveals that the bio-hazard alarm picked up Valley Fever and the Squints with Booth are now confined to the Lab.

Booth is affected by the medicine they give them for the Valley Fever and starts hallucinating:

Booth: What are those little tiny lights dancing on the ceiling?
Goodman: For the third time, those are minute firings of neurons on your optic nerve due to your reaction to the antifungal cocktail.
Booth: Wow. They're beautiful.

It's not really a case, but Bones finds out that the victim was murdered and she also find certain items in his suitcase which sheds some light on his life - she is determined to give him and his loved-ones back their lives by finding out what happened to him. She found two airline tickets to Paris and other indications that he was about to get married to a African American lady - controversial considering he was Caucasian and it was illegal. She also found very valuable coins and determined that he was killed for his coins before he could meet his love.

In this episode we find out more about Tempe's past and that her parent's had disappeared just before Christmas - she shares a very sad story with Ange about not wanting to open her presents because her brother had put their presents under the tree and she had thought that their parents had come back - Booth witnesses the interaction and gets more insight on his partner.

Ange convinces everyone to be someones secret Santa and make each other gifts as they are unable to spend Christmas with their loved-ones - she is also very self-conscious about her dad who is Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top. Every ones' loved-ones come to visit them at the lab through the glass door.

We also find out that Booth has a little boy named Parker and that he and his ex, Rebecca, are on strained terms. Parker is soooo cute!

At the end of the episode, Tempe is left standing alone in the lab and Booth invites her to join him at his favourite diner, Wong Fu's, to celebrate Christmas. She goes eventually to meet him and his son. Ivy (the victims' lover) also comes to the lab with her granddaughter and Tempe tells them the whole story, giving her back her life and a coin worth alot of money.

Tempe finally opens the presents her parents left for her and cries in a very heartfelt moment.

B&B Moments:

Booth: Bones, it’s after midnight. Hm? Christmas Eve day. Both an Eve and a day it’s a Christmas miracle.
Bones: Still enjoying your medication I see.
Dr. Brennan: You have a son?
Booth: Yeah.
Dr. Brennan: You've never mentioned that.
Booth: Well, nothing brings people together like a Christmas lung fungus

Tempe isn't big on religion but Booth is catholic:
Brennan: How would you like me to spend my Christmas?
Booth: Christmas is the perfect time to re-examine your standing with, you know (pointing upward)
Brennan: A helicopter pilot?
Booth: Oh, right, right. You can't measure the man upstairs in the beaker, so he can't possibly exist.
Brennan: The man upstairs?
Booth: Hmm. You know, you don't know if you're sick, but you're more than willing to take drugs just in case. Seems to me you could give the man upstairs the same benefit of the doubt that you do an invisible fungus.

Bones: Hey. I'm sorry you didn't get Christmas morning with your little boy.
Booth: Thanks.

Bones: Ivy Gillespie came to the lab after you left with her granddaughter.Don't you want to know what happened?
Booth: I know what happened. You told her about Careful Lionel. You showed her the letters, the tickets. She cried, but you made her happy.
Bones: Not to mention I gave her a penny worth over a hundred thousand dollars.
Booth: She won't care about that today. You just gave somebody the best Christmas gift they could ever get. Who's the secret Santa now?
Bones: Stop.
Booth: And that weirdo assistant of yours just made me the coolest dad in the world.
(Zack gave Booth a mini-robot)
